News - MOBO Awards Campaign
Music Passionate Young People Campaign MOBO Awards 2010.
Courageous music passionate young people are campaigning for the MOBO Awards to be held in Liverpool for their 2010 Awards ceremony. The campaign started after the Music Of Black Origin Awards branched out of their home town of London to Glasgow for their 09 Awards. Attracting the Cream de la cream of the urban music scene, MOBO has only ever occupied London based venues.
Liverpool musician Janiece Myers has dedicated her time along with Ben Osu an aspiring entertainment entrepreneur to helping secure the MOBO Awards for the Echo Arena for 2010.
Janiece who is effectively leading the campaign has also been all over the country performing her original material.
She commented:
"I would be so proud for the MOBO's to come to our city, for the simple fact that Liverpool is a multi cultural society and is often overlooked. This will bring light to the urban scene in this city and give it a chance to shine."
Ben Osu has set up his own events company added:
"Liverpool is the perfect place. We have a perfectly good state of the art arena and magnificent water front. The amount of regeneration that has gone in to making Liverpool and better place should definitely attract the MOBO Awards. Plus we still are the capital of culture."
