JOIN US AND PUBLISH A MAGAZINE!

About
If you've ever wondered what it takes to publish a magazine now's your chance to find out.  Join Amplifi and work as part of a small team to produce your very own publication.  Whether you're interested in journalism, writing, photography, layout and design, interviewing and researching or if you'd just like to have a go, you should apply now!  By taking part you will gain practical experience in putting together and publishing a magazine showcasing creative talent and activities in your area and you will receive help and support from media industry professionals along the way. 

When & where does it happen?
You will begin putting the magazine together from March onwards, with the next publication coming out in June.  Sessions will be held at the MDA Offices on Henry Street, in Liverpool City Centre, as well as in your local area. 

How much will it cost me?
This experience is completely FREE of charge and you will receive financial help towards your travel costs. 

What will I get out of joining? 
As well as gaining practical, hand-on experience of publishing a magazine you will cover the following areas:
. Deciding on magazine content and your target market
. Gathering magazine content (including interviews, reviews, photographs)
. Contacting potential advertisers and sponsors
. Producing and printing the magazine
. Marketing, selling and distributing the magazine

You will also be given the opportunity to gain a nationally recognised IT qualification or an Arts Award. 

What happens afterwards?
After you have experienced publishing a magazine you will have the skills to;
. Join us in publishing a further magazine or you can switch to one of our two other projects - setting up a record label or a live event
. Look for a job (we will help you with presentation skills / CV writing)
. Set up your own business (we will give you advice and support)
. Apply for a college or university course

How do I join? 
No experience is necessary.  To join you must:
. Be aged between 16 and 25
. Live in Anfield, Everton, County, Kirkdale, Linacre or Derby and be able to provide us with proof that you live there
